Madonna collaborates with Basque trio Kalakan

Pop superstar Madonna has announced that she will be collaborating with the Basque trio Kalakan to remake one of her popular hits “Open Your Heart.” The song is scheduled to be part of her World Tour 2012.

Last summer, Madonna took her family on holiday to France and spent several days in the Basque Country.
The singer met the Basque musicians while visiting the coastal town of Getari. Kalakan played for her during an intimate birthday gig with friends and family, according to the website madonnarama.com.
Madonnarama reports that Madonna will be working with Kalakan to create a new, revisited version of “Open Your Heart” that will feature “Sagarra Jo” by Kalakan.

The concert tour starts in the Middle East, heads to Europe, then from August 28 to Nov. 25 hits numerous cities in the United States. She ends with some stops in South America.
Several of Madonna’s concerts, in the U.S. and abroad, are already sold out.
Kalakan, which plays traditional Basque music, is composed of Thierry Biscary, Jean Michel Bereau and Xan Errotabehere, better known as Ttirritt, Jamixel and Xan. Their music includes a mix of percussion instruments, including txalaparta, danborrak, pandereta and ttun ttun.

Lili bat badago beilari
Txiruli luli txiruli lula

Sagarra jo dela…
Translation:
BEAT THE APPLE
At the tip of the branch of an apple tree
on the hillside a bird was singing
Txiru liruli txiru lirula,
Who hears this lovely song ?
It has beaten the apple …
Deep, very deep in the forest next to the meadow
beyond the bridge, a flower sentinel
Txiru liruli txiru lirula,
Who will pluck this lovely flower ?
It has beaten the apple… (it’s ready to be pressed to extract its juice)

March 15, the day when the lions beat Manchester United

Hello everybody and Aupa Athletic!

Athetic won the UEFA championship match against Manchester United from Manchester, UK.

Llorente scored one goal, and De marcos scored another goal. The supporters sang, shouted, and suffered for 93 minutes in the Cathedral, but at the end, we are in the quarter finals.

In case we reach the final of the UEFA championships, I think we should learn a song, and sing it in English in all european football places.

Play the following video and sing the song. (sister, thank you for the idea)
I wrote the lyrics for you:

WE ARE THE LIONS

Aupa leones!!
We come from the Basque lands
We´re the bravest you´ve ever seen
We roll by the river
and just don´t know what "give up" means
If you´re still wondering
you have some possibilities
may be you´re right
but we´ll keep on working on our dream
Athletik!!
and here we are, here we go!!
Here we are, here we go!!
Here we are, here we go!!
Here we gooooooooooo!!

We are the lions, we are the lions, we are the lions from Bilbao
we are the lions, forever champions, we are the lions from Bilbao
we are the lions, we are all iron, we are all iron, lalaralala, athletic!!
We are forever lions, and we´re gonna bite this cup!

We have our supporters
the most gentle you´ve ever seen
they roll by the river
don´t know what give up shouting means.
If you´re still wondering
you have some possibilities
may´be you´re right
but we´ll keep on working on our dreams.

Athletik!!

And here we are, here we go!!
Here we are, here we go!!
Here we are, here we go!!
Here we gooooooooooo!!

We are the lions, we are the lions, we are the lions from Bilbao
We are the lions, forever champions, we are the lions from Bilbao
We are the lions, we are all iron, we are all iron, lalaralala, Athletic!
We are forever lions and we want this championship for us.

and here we are, here we go!!
Here we are, here we go!!
Here we are, here we go!!
Here we gooooooooooooo!!

We are the lions, we are the lions, we are the lions from bilbao
we are the lions, forever champions, we are the lions from bilbao
we are the lions, we are all iron, we are all iron, lalaralala, athletic!!

We are forever lions, and we´re gonna bite this cup
we are forever lions, and we want this championship for us
we are forever lions and we´re gonna WIN this cup

Athletik!!
